WORKSHOP TITLE: Professional Telephone Skills


DESCRIPTION: This workshop is designed for college work study students, or students in the Office Systems Technology program. The focus of the workshop is to teach students techniques for making office telephone calls more positive and productive. Areas covered are: using proper telephone etiquette, taking a thorough message, screening calls, answering and solving questions, handling high caller volume, and calming angry or upset callers.

GOALS: The goal of the workshop is to present students with techniques they can utilize in the office to make their telephone interactions more positive and professional.


STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Students will be able to identify techniques that will make each telephone contact more positive, professional, and productive.
2. Students will be able to employ telephone techniques that will help them handle their telephone responsibilities.
3. Students will be able to project a positive telephone image.
