About Dr. Laura Winters


Laura Winters holds a B.A. in English Literature from Drew University an M.A. from Rutgers University in English Literature, an M.A. in Philosophy from Drew University, and a Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Drew University.


Dr. Winters is a full-time Professor of English at the College of Saint Elizabeth where she has taught literature, writing, and film for over 25 years.  She also teaches at the Casperson School of Graduate Studies at Drew University where she has been on the faculty since 1991.  Her publications include Willa Cather: Landscape and Exile, as well as articles on American literature and film. Dr. Winters has given over 50 presentations on literature, film, grief, and loss and has worked on grief-related issues with the New York City Fire Department. She has also been an active volunteer with GOALs (Going on After Loss), a counseling support group for families of children who lost a parent on 9/11.
