The STEM program at Passaic County Community College provides initiatives to support student success in science, technology, engineering, and math with the goals  to increase student interest in STEM studies, expand and strengthen STEM education and encourage students to pursue STEM careers. (See link below Workforce Projections and Urban Education).

These initiatives include partnering with area high schools to enhance STEM education, providing unique learning experiences in both high school and college to stimulate and develop STEM studies, and offering intensified tutorial support to encourage student completion of and success in STEM programs at the College.

In 2009, PCCC received a $1.7 million federal grant for STEM studies. With that we initiated the Passaic Partners for STEM Innovation and Achievement (PPSIA) Program with seven local schools, constructed a state-of-the-art STEM Learning Center at the Paterson campus,  and expanded our academic support with increased tutoring opportunities as well by introducing a summer STEM program for incoming freshmen and a professional development program for teachers in STEM fields.
