Admission Requirements LPN Mobility Option
Applicants for admission to the program must be high school
graduates or have high school equivalency diplomas (GED). The following
requirements are minimum standards. Each applicant must:
- Meet Passaic County
Community College
admission criteria.
- Achieve satisfactory scores on the Basic Skills Placement Test (BSPT)
for placement in college-level
mathematics/English courses OR completed required remediation with a
grade of “C” or higher.
- Complete Chem
103 – Intro to Chemistry with a grade of “C” or higher. If you have not completed at least one high school laboratory
science course within the past 5 years, it is recommended that you complete SC 004, General Science, with a grade
of “C” or higher.
- Complete the following college-level courses with grades of “C”
or higher prior to admission:
Course Credits CH-103 Introduction to General and Organic Chemistry 4 BS-103 Anatomy and Physiology I 4 PS-101 Introduction to Psychology 3 EN-101 Composition I 3 - Achieve a decision score
at the 70th percentile or higher on the National League for Nursing-Nursing Accelerated Challenge Examination
(ACE I). (Results of this exam are valid for three years).
- Submit evidence of a valid New Jersey practical nurse license (LPN)
- Submit a transcript from the School of Practical Nursing
with grades of “B” or higher.
- Submit a dated letter of recommendation from your current employer or from the director of the practical nursing program from which you graduated.
The Admission Committee of the Nurse Education Program will review all applicants and make a decision based on overall admission score (see PCCC Nurse Education Program Information Booklet, page 6) and space available in class.
