Department Programs and Courses:

The Mathematics Department at Passaic County Community College awards an Associate in Science (A.S) Degree in Liberal Arts with a Mathematics Option.  This option is for students who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in mathematics at a four-year university.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the language of Mathematics
  • Solve mathematical problems using appropriate mathematical tools
  • Solve application problems using methods of Calculus
  • Demonstrate and understanding of the theories of calculus and differential equations
  • Apply mathematical methods and tools to solve quantifiable problems
  • Communicate effectively in writing, using information resources and supporting technology

Additionally, the Mathematics Department provides support courses for most other programs at the College.  It also provides a developmental math program for students who need further academic preparation in mathematics before beginning college level classes.
