Diana C. Blauvelt, is a Paterson native. After earning a N.J. Secondary Teacher of English Certificate, she was awarded a Teaching Fellow at Jersey City State College where she sat on the Board of Trustees as a voting member and graduated with honors from Kappa Delta Pi and Alpha Upsilon Alpha. She previously taught at New Jersey City University and Hudson Community College before joining Bloomfield College where she was employed as a reading specialist and coordinator of a developmental studies program for freshmen.
Since arriving at PCCC, Professor Blauvelt has been the RD 001 Level Leader, and she has chaired committees and served on the Executive Board of the College's Academic Council. Ms. Blauvelt is a member of the International Reading Association as well as other professional organizations. At PCCC, she is active in Student Activities and has received awards from the PCCC Student Government Association. Professor Blauvelt has also made local and national presentations on incorporating critical thinking and the use of multiple intelligence theories in the developmental reading classroom.
