"When I first came to this country, I did not know any English. I decided to go to school to learn the language first. That was the reason I enrolled in the ESL Program at PCCC in the Fall of 1994. I studied English for about 2½ years. I learned a lot and then I decided to go for my AA degree in Liberal Arts. I graduated in May 1999 with a 3.85 G.P.A. I also received the ESL Graduate Achievement Award given by the ESL and Modern Language Department. Being a student at PCCC was the best decision I have ever made in my life."

Congratulations to Eridania Jimenez! She was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from New Jersey TESOL. Eridania began studying ESL at PCCC at the 012 level in fall '99, and in spring 2000, she finished all the courses in the ESL Program. Eridania will continue to study at PCCC. She wishes to enter the nursing program and hopes one day to become an emergency room nurse.
