Professor Pearn is the Coordinator of the Fire Science and Homeland Security Programs as well as Director of the Emergency Medical Technician program at Passaic County Community College.  He also teaches criminal justice courses at PCCC.  A retired police officer from the City of Paterson Police Department, Professor Pearn  served there as assistant police academy director, lead training adviser for the Paterson Police Academy, and Fatal Crash Investigator/ Reconstructionist. Previously, he was employed by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department as a Corrections Officer/Emergency Medical Technician and by the Paterson Fire Department as an Emergency Medical Technician.

 
Professor Pearn holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master’s Degree in Administrative Science (MAS) with a concentration in Emergency Management and Terrorism Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
