The following steps are recommended for finding information to write a paper about an author or a work of literature:

  • Search Literature Resource Center from GALE. Here you will find biographies and critical analyses of authors of all time periods and genres. (Hint: To find information on a specific work, perform an Advanced search, and enter both the author and the title.)
  • Search the Library Catalog for books on your topic. Be sure to perform a words or phrase search if you are looking for information both by your author and about your author.
  • If you still need information, search EBSCOhost for articles on your topic. (On the first screen, click on EBSCOhost Web; on the next screen, check off MasterFILE Premier and Academic Search Premier from the list of databases, then click Continue.)
