Online Databases 

The Library offers access to several full-text online databases, where you may search the periodical literature of many subject areas. You may then read, download, print, or email relevant articles. To enter a database, click on its logo. Passwords are required for off-campus access.

	Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe is recommended for finding news articles, and is also very useful for finding Business, Legal, Medical, and general Reference information.
	EBSCOHost includes a variety of general and subject-specific databases. Follow the link to see descriptions of each database, then select as many or as few as you wish for your search.
	GALE includes the following databases: Health Reference Center Academic, Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, Health & Wellness Resource Center, Literature Resource Center, Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism Select, Dictionary of Literary Biography, and the Gale Virtual Reference Library.
	CQ Researcher, a weekly periodical, is an excellent resource for current events and socio-political topics. Each issue covers one particular topic in depth.
	Facts on File includes the following databases: American History, U.S. Government, Modern World History, Ancient and Medieval History, Science, Health Reference Center, World Atlas, Bloom's Literary Reference, Today's Science, World News Digest, Issues & Controversies, and Issues & Controversies in American History.
	Offering a unique, interdisciplinary approach to U.S. and Global history and culture, Sharpe Online Reference (SOLR) explores the broad range of events, people, movements, and political, social, economic, and cultural issues that have shaped the nation and the world from earliest times to the present day.
	DSM-IV-TR® Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders   Fourth Edition The standard diagnostic tool used by mental health professionals worldwide to promote reliable research, accurate diagnosis, and thus appropriate treatment and patient care.
	The Scientific & Medical ART (SMART) Imagebase is a collection of 15,500+ high quality illustrations and animations depicting anatomy, physiology, surgery, diseases, conditions, trauma, embryology, histology, and other health science topics.
	The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database is an online database with over 300,000 reviews on children's literature from over 36 quality reviewers.
	Oxford Reference Online brings together a range of fully-indexed, extensively linked, up to date, and cross-searchable dictionary, language reference, and subject reference works published by Oxford University Press.
	Oxford Music Online includes the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (2nd ed), as well as The New Grove Dictionary of Opera and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz (2nd ed). Includes links to audio files.
	Oxford Art Online provides access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art, plus extensive image links and sophisticated search features.
	Search over 30 databases, including Info Trac Custom Newspapers, American History Online, Health Source Nursing/Academic, ReferenceUSA, ¡Informe! (en español), and more. Library card required for home use.
