Browsing for books in the Library
In the Library, books are classified by topic, and labeled with call numbers. The call number appears on the spine of the book. A call number denotes the classification of the book's topic. Each call number starts with a letter(s) and is followed by a number(s). Thus, books are arranged on the shelves in alpha-numeric order according to the call number.

Keep in mind that the Library collection is divided into 2 major sections: the Reference section and the Circulating section. The Reference section is located in the new wing near the computer area. Reference books include general works such as Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Almanacs, and Directories. Reference books may not be borrowed from the Library. The Circulating section is in the old wing, the room that you walk into when you enter the Library. These books may be borrowed from the Library. Books in both sections are classified according to the method described above.
