Public facilities to help bridge the digital divide
The Paterson Community Technology Center is at 218 Memorial Drive. This 15,000 square foot structure, which is located adjacent to the college campus, has three floors and a basement.
The Paterson CTC is intended as a mixed use, multimedia facility. There are 5 classrooms in the CTC: 2 classrooms on the 1st and 3rd floor and 1 classroom on the 2nd floor which is a multimedia MAC Lab. The College reserves the first floor as an open access computer laboratory for computer training and Internet access.
On the second floor is the College's Urban Consortium which includes the Upward Bound and the College Bound Program. Our facility is available to for-profit organizations for a small fee. Please email us for a price quote. Non-profit organizations can use the facility free-of-charge*. If you would like to use one of our training rooms, please submit a Space Request Form along with the Hold Harmless Form. New MULTIMEDIA MAC Design Lab
On the 2nd. floor the New Media Design Lab at the Paterson Community Technology Center provides users with access to state of the art tools for digital expression and production including:
20 Internet connected Apple Macintosh Multimedia Workcenters
a teacher station which can control and communicate with student workstations
a full audio and visual display compliment including large screen projection, surround sound and recording capabilities
a media server that allows productions to be accessed anywhere anytime
This lab is also video and audio conference enabled and provides users with an array of peripheral technologies including digital scanners, cameras and pod-casting tools.
3 laptop carts are available for use in any of the classrooms. 2 of the carts have 23 laptops each with the following specifications and programs:
