George A. Tice is noted for his large format black and white photographs of New Jersey urban landscapes, especially the City of Paterson.  His work is represented in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, among others.  In 1972, Tice’s work was featured in a one person exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum, and his book Paterson was awarded the Grand Prix du Festival d’Arles.  An image of Rooftop, 21st Avenue & Spring Street is pictured on the cover.
