Painted Life

“PAINTED LIFE”
Photographs by
JOSEPH COSTA

Joseph Costa has said, “Photography is an indispensable tool in art. There is no other art form that can more accurately capture the fleeting moments of life.” The photographs in this exhibit, “Painted Life,” are digital images. Costa says that in order to create a heightened, surrealistic sense of reality, he “painted” his subjects with different colored light sources and sharp color contrasts. He used a computer to complete his final images.

Costa graduated from Montclair State University and is currently Curator of Photography at the Paterson Museum. He has exhibited his work in a number of area galleries, museums, and publications.
