ECSTASY: GIVING VISION TO VOICE
Photographs from the Dodge Poetry Festival

Alonzo Jennings is a retired art teacher, photographer, poet and jazz aficionado. Since 1979 he has been photographing and writing about legendary jazz musicians, and he has written four volumes of poetry.

His latest project, Ecstasy: Giving Vision to the Power of Words, is a photo essay of 200 photographs featuring the poets and participants of the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, 2002 – 2010.  The 19 photographs in this exhibition, Ecstasy: Giving Vision to Voice, are selected images of poets at the Dodge Festival from Jennings’ larger collection.

Alonzo Jennings is a graduate of Montclair State University and the Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University.  He has exhibited his photographs at the Serengeti Plaines, Montclair, NJ; Burlington County College, Passaic County Community College, and The Princeton Arts Council, among others.  Jennings also hosts monthly poetry workshops and readings at Barnes & Noble in Moorestown, New Jersey.
