Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A reception for the artist will be held in the gallery on Tuesday, November 9, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Admission to the exhibit and reception is free. The gallery is wheel chair accessible.

As an artist, interior designer, and collector, Donna Österby Brien has long been obsessed with color and pattern. Her art work has evolved from highly detailed, realistic watercolor paintings to her current finely crafted magical collages. Inspired by a commission from a design client, she began the first of the series of collages in this exhibit. Using reconstructed images and materials that she has collected, Osterby entices the viewer into her fanciful environments. The artist states about her work, “I found myself juxtaposing seemingly unrelated images, creating a patchwork of color, pattern, texture and scale: a giant lizard; a tiny circus performer; stairs leading…where?  Arches, windows, doorways and paths; dreams and visions, evidence of things unseen…”

Donna Österby Brien studied interior design at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. She has exhibited her work at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT; New Rochelle College, Silvermine Guild in Norwalk, CT; and the Paterson Museum. After winning 1st Place and Best in Show Awards at the Passaic County Senior Art Show in June 2004, Osterby went on to win 1st Place in the mixed media category (professional) at the New Jersey Senior Citizens Juried Art Contest and Exhibition in September 2004 held in Flemington.
