“EARTH AND WATER”
PHOTOGRAPHS BY DAVID SHORT

The Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council at Passaic County Community College is pleased to present “EARTH AND WATER,” an exhibition of photographs by DAVID SHORT. The exhibit is on view in the Hamilton Club Gallery from July1 through September 4, 2003.

The Hamilton Club Building is located at Passaic County Community College, 32 Church Street at Ellison Street in the downtown historic district of Paterson, New Jersey. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission to the exhibit is free.

A native to the North Shore of Massachusetts where he currently lives, David Short has been photographing that area, “along the edge of land and water,” for over thirty years. Also, frequent travel to other areas and abroad has provided him with a variety of subject matter for his photographs.

About the sixteen photographs in “Earth and Water,” Short says: “For me it’s meditation, looking closer, seeing how light plays off dancing water, rough stone, earth.

Often I return to the same place for variations of season, atmosphere, light. Sometimes I sit in silence, waiting.”

David Short received a B.F.A. in photography from Massachusetts College of Art. His photographs have been widely exhibited in the New England area.
