About the Exhibit
The artists participating in Native Visions have roots in Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Though they have diverse visions, styles and techniques, all are inspired by their indigenous and Taino heritage. Michael Casiano’s paintings tell stories that are influenced by Native American and Taino cultures; Ferdinand Uaian Bruno, Priscilla Anacakuyani Bell Lamberty, Román Guaraguorix Perez, Theresa Makutonaru Santana, Miguel Koromo Sague and Gina Robles Villalba use traditional indigenous images and symbols in their artwork, while Franchesca Rivera and Inti Guarionex Rodríguez experiment with a variety of mediums and techniques.
The exhibit is a partnership with El Club Deportivo Puertorriqueño and was curated by Jaimí Rodríguez.
