Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony October 27

Passaic County Community College (PCCC) will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 27 at 2:00 pm to mark the recently completed expansion of the Wanaque Academic Center (WAC), located at 500 Union Avenue, Wanaque.

Joining PCCC President Steven M. Rose will be the College’s Board of Trustees, Members of the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders, administrators, faculty and staff members, and students, as well as guests. The ceremony will be followed by a tour of the campus

The recent expansion, designed by Comerro Coppa Architects of Totowa, created two state-of-the art professional kitchens for PCCC’s new Culinary Arts program,
which is based at the suburban campus, as well as new facilities for the Fine and Performing Arts division,
including music recording and practice studios, a black box theater, and a fine arts workspace with floor-to-ceiling windows that enable natural light.

Enhancements include a comfortable student-gathering spot with a café. The WAC facility now totals 66,000 square feet on a 20-acre campus that also features ample outdoor parking.
The expansion of the WAC campus reflects the growth of academics at PCCC where new degree programs were introduced this Fall in Culinary Arts, Music Technology, and Digital Media Production. Also new are certificate programs in Culinary Arts, Baking, and Basic Video Production.
These programs represent some of today’s fastest growing job fields, and the WAC expansion enables students interested in those fields, and in Studio Arts and Theater, to enjoy the educational and employment advantages of learning in a cutting-edge facility.

An added convenience for students is a new campus-run shuttle service between WAC and PCCC’s Main Campus in Paterson.
The shuttle runs Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 am and making seven runs a day that coordinate with class schedules at WAC.

The Wanaque Academic Center was built in 1999 and is one of four PCCC campuses located throughout Passaic County.
In addition to WAC and the Main Campus are the Passaic Academic Center and the Public Safety Academy in Wayne.
