PCCC Announces Partnership With Uwill for Student Mental Health Services

Passaic County Community College is pleased to announce that the College is now partnering with Uwill, the leading mental health and wellness solution for college students.

This partnership is part of the state of New Jersey’s ongoing efforts to address the growing mental health crisis among young adults. Governor Phil Murphy and Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE) Dr. Brian Bridges announced a partnership with Uwill in May to support students across 45 institutions of higher education throughout New Jersey.

Uwill enables colleges to enhance and expand their existing counseling capabilities by offering students free immediate access to teletherapy at any time they need to talk to someone. Therapists are available days, nights, and weekends by phone, video, chat, or messaging. Another advantage is that students are able to choose a therapist based on their preferences for gender, language, ethnicity, and focus area. Uwill’s service is private, secure, and confidential. An added component, Urise, offers students free access to videos for yoga, meditation, relaxation techniques, and other options for self-care.

As with many colleges today, student mental health is a high priority at PCCC where an active Wellness Center provides or connects students to resources for food insecurity, shelter, clothing, counseling services, academic support and more. Uwill extends the capability of PCCC by providing rapid, personalized, anytime counseling.
