When did the Child Care Center open?
Care is provided for children ages 3 - 4.
Does PCCC CDC accept families from the community?
Yes, we currently have one 3 and 4 year-old classroom for non-Paterson residents.
PCCC CDC is contracted with the city of Paterson as an Abbott provider. The Abbot program offers high- quality child care services, free of charge to all 3 and 4 year-old Paterson residents. For more information on the Abbott Program visit (link)
How much does child care cost?
Rates vary depending on the amount of time the child will be attending the center and the child's age (see rates and tuition link). Assistance is available to families who qualify through the Abbot Program (link). Students of PCCC who are enrolled for 9 or more credits may also qualify for free or reduced child care through the Student Support Service.
Is the center open year-round?
The CDC offers a summer program that operates on the same schedule as the regular school year (7 am – 5pm). However, there is no after care during the summer. Our aftercare hours will only apply during the 144 days that PCCC classes are in session.
What hours is the center open?
Our Day program hours are Monday – Friday, 7 am – 5 pm.
After Care hours are Monday- Thursday, 5pm to 6pm
The Child Development Center is located in downtown Paterson on Broadway. Our facility stands between the main entrance of Passaic County Community College and the College Bookstore.
What materials will be in my child's classroom?
Each classroom is designed to educate the children through hands on learning centers. The children can move freely from one center to another with the guidance of a teacher or an assistant. The learning centers include resources in Language Arts, Mathematics and Science, Creative Arts, Music, Blocks, and Sand or Water Play.
Can my child take a nap at the center?
Yes. The children are scheduled for one naptime from 12:30 – 2:30. We ask that the parents provide a mat and pillow or blanket for their child’s naptime.
Will meals be provided for my child?
Breakfast is offered at 8:30 a.m. A well-balanced lunch will be provided around noon. There is also an afternoon snack scheduled at 3 p.m. See the meal schedule link for monthly menus.
Will the children be able to play outside?
Yes. The children take walks and play outside during various times of the day.
How can I place my child on the waiting list?
There is no formal waiting list for our program. However, completing a Request Information Form (link) will enable us to notify you if there are any openings in our program.
Does my child have to be potty trained in order to attend the center?
No, however, CDC will assist parents in potty training their child. We do ask that you provide a change of clothes to have at the center in case of a accident.
