The Cultural Affairs Department offers
a full schedule of quality cultural programming throughout
the year to all residents of Passaic County. Thousands of
people, young and old , enjoy the facilities of our 300
seat theater and our 1500 seat gymnasium to hear concerts,
see live theater, enjoy poetry readings, meet famous
artists, and view films.
The Cultural Affairs Department acts as the
parent organization of the following programs:
In its new home, the historic
Hamilton Club Building, established in 1897 as a
gentleman’s club and purchased by PCCC in 1995, the
Cultural Affairs Department is an integral part of the
College’s relationship with the community. The Department
emphasizes diverse programs reflecting the rich ethnic
makeup of Passaic
County, including Latino and African
American art, theater and poetry. As a tribute to the high
quality of these programs, the Cultural Affairs Department
was honored with grants from the National Endowment for
the Arts, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the
Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the New Jersey Historical
Commission, the Lannan Foundation, the New Jersey State
Teen Arts Program, and the Paterson Alumni Association.
The Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council, the PCCC
Art Galleries, the Theater and Poetry Project and the
Poetry Center strive to maintain a barrier-free facility
including complete access for patrons using wheelchairs.
